2018 Eden Trail Riesling

The 2018 Riesling shows highlights of crisp natural acidity.  The glass is filled with fresh limes, florals and hints of sherbet.  On the palate, an element of minerality is highlighted by the clean acid line and citrus flavours.  Drinking very well upon release but will age elegantly for many years.

Vinification Notes

Vintage Notes

The 2018 growing season had all the hallmarks of a classic vintage.  Consistent warm temperatures produced perfect conditions for our Eden Valley whites to ripen.  This along with good winter rains and a dry harvest period resulted in vibrant varietal flavours, excellent natural acidity and a long balanced finish.

The 2017 Eden Trail Riesling starts off with potent lime sherbet aromas. It's a crisp, medium-bodied wine, very citrusy and clean, without much adornment. Steel-fermented and aged, it's a focused, linear laser beam of citrus with hints of peach and green apple.

19/20 – Raymond Chan

Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with slight lemon-green hues, lighter on the rim.  The nose is elegant and beautifully fragrant with an aromatic array of white and yellow florals with a core of lime fruit, subtly entwined with mouth-watering mineral nuances, and refreshing hints of herb elements.  Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate has a taut and concentrated, penetrating core of finely packed flavours of lime fruit melded with white and yellow florals and thirst-quenching minerals,  The acidity is very fine, showing low pH , but with a near-electric crispness.  The fruit flows with excellent linearity and drive, carrying long and sustained mouth-watering finish of citrus fruits and florals.  This is a taut, concentrated and penetrating dry Riesling with an array of aromatics on a very fine-textured, thirst-quenching palate.
