2016 Terra Barossa Shiraz Cabernet Petit Verdot
Medium deep red with purple tints. Lifted mulberry and blackberry on the nose. The Shiraz adds spiced plum and is complimented by some savoury Cabernet characters of blackcurrant and herbs. The Petit Verdot adds juicy red berries to the profile. Integrated oak leads to a long balanced finish.
The fruit was harvested at night when the fruit was deemed to be ripe by our winemakers. Warm fermentation was carried out in a mix of potter and open fer-menter. Extended time on skins adds to the texture of the wine. The wine was matured in French oak for ten months prior to blending and bottling.
Shiraz - 51%, Cabernet Sauvignon - 33%, Petit Verdot - 16%
A warm dry spring led to into similarly dry conditions in December and January. The warm weather brought harvest on in the first week of February. A couple of good rain events led to milder conditions and a long even ripening period and excellent flavour development. The wine from 2016 show typical Barossa warmth and generosity and should age well.

Lurid violet. Cassis, bitter cherry and cola aromas are energized by a peppery nuance. Primary black and blue fruit flavors open up slowly with air while developing a suggestion of succulent herbs. Clings nicely on a tangy, youthfully tannic finish that shows good nerve and cut.
