2011 Mount Crawford Pinot Gris
Comments
The 2011 Pinot Gris has a lifted pear aroma with subtle spice overtones. The rich palate is medium bodied with excellent texture, ripe pear and spice flavours.
Vinification Notes
The fruit was harvested at night when the winemakers felt the flavours were right. The juice was gently extracted from the fruit to minimise colour pick up (the fruit is a dark pink/grey colour). Cool fermentation was carried out in stainless steel to retain fruit characters. Extended time on lees add to the texture of the wine.
Vintage Notes
This vintage had a cool, slow ripening period which has in turn produced superb white wines.

This is a very good varietal expression, with fruit perfumed pear and apple aromatics. The palate is supple and the firmness matches the weight of fruit and acidity. Excellent value.
