Summer may be officially over, but this month we're celebrating a wine perfect for those hot days still to come - our vibrant and lively 2022 Sandpiper Riesling.
Vibrant pale straw in colour with brilliant green highlights. Lively citrus, perfumed florals and gentle talc aromas jump from the glass, showing true Eden Valley characters. Fresh cut lime, fragrant lemongrass and a fine minerality are highlights of the palate, which also has a beautiful, long acid drive. The result is finely balanced wine with precision, perfume, and a delicious core of mouth-watering fruit.
Grown in our most southern Eden Valley vineyard, Mount Crawford, which borders on the Adelaide Hills. This vineyard is not only our highest elevation but also one of the coolest sites in South Australia, creating ideal, late-ripening conditions for our Riesling. The site was specially selected as it faces north, providing the much-needed warmth at this altitude in spring and autumn. Also, the miserable mountain soil actually challenges the vines to work harder and achieve excellent flavour and acid levels.
